Padmaavat beats Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Happy New Year, Golmaal Again and 3 Idiots in just 10 days

Padmaavat is taking giant strides at the box office and is creating records in a jiffy. Since the day it released, it made people throng the theatres to watch it again and again. Thanks to that, the film has managed to achieve another feat of earning Rs 212.50 crore in the domestic circuit.

But that's not the only thing it has achieved. In just 10 days, it has accumulated more than the lifetime collections of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Happy New Year, Golmaal Again and 3 Idiots. Yes, in one clean sweep Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone has defeated Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir Khan along with Ajay Devgn..

Interestingly, while Padmaavat couldn't become Deepika Padukone's biggest opener, it might just become her biggest hit. Yes, it has already left Happy New Year behind. Shah Rukh Khan's 2014 Diwali blockbuster had earned Rs 203 in its entire run. Chennai Express is her biggest hit with Rs 227.13 crore in its kitty. Aamir's 3 Idiots had earned Rs 202.47 crore in its lifetime at the box office. In fact, it was the first film to start the Rs 200 crore club. Golmaal Again only recently entered the club with Rs 205.69 crore in its kitty followed by Salman Khan's 2015 Diwali bounty Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (210.16 crore). Clearly, Padmaavat is going places!.
Interestingly, as of now Rs 200 crore club has only been inhabited predominately by the Khans. But Padmaavat changed it all. Three people from the younger lot has managed to do something which was a Khan job until recently!.
